Some Quotes

Makarewicz was trembling when he took the award, and generously attributed his success to the collaboration and support of Pixar’s conviction and compassion for each other and their craft.

What do you do when God hands you a miracle? That is the question I had to ask myself when I heard Patton Oswalts’ voice. His performance is equal if not greater than Daniel Day-Lewis… as we struggle to bring the animation art form… up to genius level- or, as we say in Hollywood, we tried to pull off a Patton…” Brad Bird

VES Awards

Our members understand technology and how it intersects with art and business. Our members have the talent, the experience, the knowledge to understand how these issues will play out. Unfortunately, we have not done such a great job of educating everyone else in the industry because they think we are just a bunch of glorified button pushing techno geeks. Well, that is not the reality. The truth of the matter is, although we can be pretty geeky, we are true artists who understand how to influence a creative decision making to get a story told properly.

Instead, there is joy at winning and determination after losing, if you can call it losing when you see an award go to a comrade who might have barely edged you out and is beaming with pride. When you are in a room filled with people who love their craft or love those who create it, it’s hard to feel that anyone loses. Though it’s not a field for the faint of heart, it is hard to miss the smiles of those who are in it, and when there are a thousand of them around you, you know you have made the right choice for a career.

The idea,” said Spielberg “is this is how it all starts. Even in this digital era, it’s still all starts that way because somebody has a dream. You all know that we have a lot of dreams, the directors and writers that put all this stuff together, but you also know that we come sometimes with a dream that doesn’t quite have a picture frame, or isn’t in focus, it’s just an idea. You’ve got to give yourselves credit, because you’re the ones that fill in the colors and bring our dreams into focus by showing us what can be done. It’s an amazing collaboration that film makers have with this group in this room. A collaboration that has resulted into some of the most amazing motion picture images the world has ever scene.

I’ve always said we imagine for a living, and this is the one room in this creative community where I can truly say this group right here dreams for a living, and thank God for that.”

These are my brethren. The kind of soup that I was born in, this wanting to create something that doesn’t exist in the known world. Some illusion, some magic trick you can turn around and show people. So everybody in this room, I feel like they are my brother and my sister, that we all started with the same inspiration based on movies we had seen growing up, to want to do things that were a little less realistic and a lot more about the celebration of imagination.”

Ive just finished reading an article about The Annie Awards “Animation's Highest Honor”, the more I read the article the more I was picturing myself getting one of those awards on account of Pixar. I'm really inspired by that dream so from now on I swear to myself that I'll do whatever I can to reach that dream no matter what.

I'll stop wasting time in stupid things like being reading unimportant things on the web, watching series that I don't really care, eat as fast as I can so I start doing my homework. And at the end of the day practice my 3d animation. I also read that Linux its getting popular among the 3d animation's studios so I'm gonna get a extra HDD so I can install open Suse and use Maya in Linux.

I'm sorry I've hadn't written since January 14, well here are some news, I've already installed Fedora the bad thing is that I couldn't get Maya to work in Fedora I guess its because of the license installer thats all fucked up. I hope I can get an other license installer because I really wanna try out Maya in Fedora. Besides that it haven't happened anything interesting in my life until today that I saw Sweeney Todd.

I'll begin by telling you that this is a great movie mainly because of the music. I think it's what makes the movie appealing rather than disgusting, I loved the way Tim Burton made the blood because it was so much and in an artificial colour that it was beautiful. The story was so interesting that I was anxious to finish the movie, couldn't get my eyes away of the screen.
